The two connected early in the second quarter as well. After a missed field goal, WMU capped off a nine-play, 80-yard drive with a three-yard touchdown pass to Watson. During the drive Wassink connected with Eskridge for a 48-yard gain, a career-long for both.

The Broncos moved it to the three-yard line and Bogan took it in from there for the touchdown.
Wagner capitalized on a fumble by the Broncos to score a touchdown to cut the lead to 21-7 late in the second quarter. After Tyamonee Johnson recorded a fumble by Wassink, the Seahawks were held and forced to kick a field goal. The kick was no good but the Broncos were flagged for roughing the kicker, giving Wagner a first down. After pushing closer to the goal line Denzel Knight took it in from two-yards out.
The Broncos opened up the third quarter scoring touchdowns on their first four drives. After taking the kickoff, WMU marched down the field to take a 28-7 lead. Western Michigan started at its 35 and, on the second play of the drive, Wassink found Eskridge for a 44-yard gain to move the ball down to the Wagner 19. Bogan took it down to the one after three straight rushes and Franklin rumbled into the end zone for his first touchdown of the season to cap off the six-play, 65-yard drive.
The Broncos forced the Seahawks to punt on the ensuing drive and WMU marched right down the field again to make it 35-7. Franklin carried the load on the drive and ran it down to the Wagner 23 after a 38-yard rush. On the next play he took it 23 yards for his second touchdown of the night, pushing him over 100 yards for the first time this season.
WMU forced another three and out and after a bad punt had the ball at the Seahawk 35-yard line. Wassink connected with Watson for a 21-yard gain to move the ball to the 14. Davon Tucker ran it twice to move it to the 11 and on third down Wassink connected with redshirt freshman tight end Mitch Heimbuch for the touchdown. The final score for the Broncos came after Nick Match jumped on a fumbled snap to take possession at the Wagner 36. On the next play Tucker ran it 36 yards into the end zone to push the score to 49-7.
The Seahawks cut the lead to 49-14 after recovering a WMU fumbled snap at the 28. Ryan Fulse ran the ball twice, first for 20 yards and then eight yards, into the end zone.
