BUFFALO, NY -- Visiting Albany scored the first touchdown, but the Buffalo Bulls answered with 38 unanswered points Saturday to hand new head coach Lance Leipold a lopsided 51-14 victory.
Bulls senior quarterback Joe Licata completed 20-of-26 passes (76 percent) with two touchdowns and no interceptions in the season opener. Five UB receivers had at least three interceptions Mason Schreck led the way with five catches for 62 yards. Ron Willoughby and Collin Lisa combined for six receptions and 116 yards.
Running back Anthone Taylor led the Buffalo ground game with 104 yards on 17 carries (6.1 ypc) with two TDs. Jordan Johnson contributed 69 yards on 11 totes (6.3 ypc) and Buffalo totaled 212 rushing yards with four touchdowns.
