Soloman Jackson There will be a moment of silence at the Buffalo Bulls vs. Miami RedHawks basketball game tonight at Alumni Arena as the community begins to pay its respects to University at Buffalo football player Soloman Jackson. The defensive end passed away Monday night, according to the University.
"It is with deep sadness that I write to share that we have lost one of our own, UB football player Solomon Jackson, who passed away last night," University at Buffalo Athletics Director Allen Greene stated. "Our heartfelt condolences and deepest sympathies go out to Solomon's family as together we mourn his tragic and untimely death.”
"As Solomon's family prepares to make memorial and funeral arrangements, we will share more information as it becomes available. In the meantime, I know I am joined by Coach Leipold, the football staff and the entire Athletics family in expressing my deepest personal sympathies to Solomon's family and friends during this incredibly difficult time."
Jackson, 20, played both linebacker and defensive end over his career. He was coming off his most productive season in 2015, playing in all 12 games and starting six at defensive end. He had 13 tackles, three tackles for loss and two sacks as a redshirt-sophomore last season.
