Irons' one-yard run at 3:58 of the third quarter was Ohio's final score, while Buffalo added a 35-yard Adam Mitcheson third quarter field goal and 39-yard Jordan Johnson run with just 1:58 to play.
Buffalo quarterback Joe Licata completed 21 of 32 passes for 212 yards. Marcus McGill paced receivers with eight catches for 81 yards.
Johnson led the UB running game, which provided all three offensive touchdowns. He registered 147 yards and two TD on 28 carries. The Bulls totaled 161 rushing yards.
Ohio QB Derrius Vick completed 32 of 51 passes for 321 yards and three of the four Bobcat interceptions.
OU managed just 54 yards rushing. Daz'mond Patterson (11 carries 28 yards) and Maleek Irons (4 carries, 7 yards) each tallied one touchdown. Josian Yazdani hit a 24-yard field goal on his only attempt.
Buffalo travels to Miami Thursday. Ohio's next outing is Wed., Nov. 4 at Bowling Green.
