Western Michigan managed to hold off Ohio University for a 29-23 victory in Friday's contest. That accomplished three goals for the Broncos:
- They maintained their undefeated record
- They earned a MAC championship
- They are headed to the Cotton Bowl, where they will face Wisconsin.
Ohio, who owned a share of the MAC East title, will also be heading to a bowl. The Bobcats are matched up against Troy at the Dollar General Bowl in Mobile, Alabama.
