. . . heaved a long pass to wideout Jesse Kroll, who caught the ball at the 12 but was immediately wrapped up. While on the way down, he managed to get off a short lateral to Corey Willis trailing the play. Willis then sprinted left and just managed to stretch the ball across the goal line before going down himself.
Central Michigan trailed early, falling behind 14-0 by the end of the first quarter. A 24-yard pass from Rush to Tyler Conklin at 12:13 of the second period cut the Chips deficit in half. Both teams added field goals, leaving the hosts in front 17-10 at intermission.
Another Rush to Conklin aerial, this time for five yards, tied the game with 5:15 left in the third period. Oklahoma State answered, but this time with a 35-yard Ben Grogan field goal at 2:58.
Devon Spalding moved Central back in front at 9:40 of the final period when he scored on a 31-yard pass play from Rush.
Oklahoma State went back in front, 27-24, on a 2-yard pass play from Dillon Stoner to James Washington at 5:12. It appeared that lead would stand until CMU snatched it victory on the final play.
Rush completed 30 of 42 passes for 361 yards and four TDs with one interception. Conklin caught seven balls for 96 yards and two TDs, while Kroll registered six catches for 91 yards. Spalding and Willis also notched receiving TDs.
