Eastern Michigan was led by Ray Lee as he scored 26 points, doing a large majority of his legwork at the charity stripe, where he hit 14 of his 15 attempts from the free throw line. Willie Mangum IV connected on four 3-pointers and six field goals overall to grab 16 points in the contest.
For SMU, Semi Ojeleye and Jarrey Foster each poured in 18 points, while Shake Milton, Sterling Brown and Ben Moore had 12, 12, and 11, respectively. The Mustangs were able to out-rebound the Eagles, 44-26, while they scorched from the floor, hitting 52.7 percent of their shots and 38.1 percent of its three-point field goal attempts.
