Eastern Michigan crushes Saints

YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) – Eastern Michigan utilized a high-powered offensive attack and ferocious defense to down Siena Heights Sunday by a final tally of 117-55. The Eagles (6-3, 0-0 MAC) took the lead early, and never relinquished it to the Saints, with the lead stretching to as high as 65.

. . . visitors on offense, finishing 43-of-72 (59.7 percent) from the field, and 6-of-15 from three. The Eagles were just one point away from tying the Convocation Center record for points in a half with 64 first-half points and finished the game with the most in a game in Convo history. 

Additionally, the team had 26 assists on the day, breaking the previous single-game record of 25, a record that was set during the 2004-05 season. 

On the defensive side, Eastern held the Saints to just 17-of-54 from the field, and 6-of-21 from deep. EMU stole the ball 17 times, tying the third-most in program history.

Sophomore James Thompson IV and senior Willie Mangum IV both finished with 23 points on the day, with Thompson also nabbing six boards. Mangum IV had three three-pointers. 

Junior Tim Bond stuffed the stat sheet en route to his first double-double of the season, finishing with 12 points, 10 assists, and seven steals. His 10 assists marked the most in his career, while seven steals was just one behind his personal-best. Senior Ty Toney and redshirt sophomore Jordan Nobles also reached double digits, scoring 14 and 13 points, respectively.
