● The Delta Devils visit Ypsilanti for the first-ever meeting between the two schools. Wideout Booker Chambers is among the top offensive returnees. Defensive back Marquis Green was named to the first team SWAC defensive unit. He recorded 47 tackles and grabbed seven interceptions. Fellow DB Farrean Toney earned SWAC Second Team honors.
● Eastern Michigan returns 18 starters (8 off/7 def/3 st) among 45 letter winner’s from last year’s 1-11 squad. Darius Jackson is gone after gaining 1,078 yards and scoring 14 TDs last year. Moving into the key back role should be Shaq Vann. The 5-10, 213-pound sophomore was named a Doak Walker Award Preseason Candidate this summer. He was second on the Eagles with 586 yards with five touchdowns on 100 carries in 2015.
● Tight end Sam Browning pulled down 24 aerials for 326 yards and three scores last year.
● Defensive back Jason Beck made 80 tackles last year. Defensive linemen Luke MacLean owned 46 tackles, along with 5.0 sacks.
