It’s been a tough season for the Miami RedHawks basketball team, which took another hit Friday with one-game suspensions to four players.
Three seniors: Geovonie McKnight, Willie Moore, and Jere Vucica, as well as sophomore guard Ali Barnes, will miss Saturday’s game at rival Ohio University (17-8, 8-5).
The Bobcats, ranked No. 2 among MAC teams in scoring to Miami’s last place rank, already figured as significant favorites. The suspensions will give MU (9-17, 3-10 MAC) an even greater challenge.
Vucica hasn’t seen action in months after an injury. However, McKnight (12.6 ppg) is the second-leading scorer on a team that struggles to score. Moore and Barnes are also guards, further hampering the RedHawks at that position.
