It will be a much healthier Northern Illinois Huskie team that takes the field Saturday at Wyoming. Decimated by injuries, especially at the quarterback position during the final stages of 2015, NIU should be ready to roll as 2016 opens.
Although they will be on the road, the Huskies take on a team that struggled through much of last year. The Wyoming Cowboys went 2-10 overall and were 2-6 in Mountain West play.

Defensively, safety Andrew Wingard notched 122 tackles, including 7 tfl. Linebacker D.J. May recorded 69 stops,
NIU has reliable Drew Hare back at quarterback. In connected on 164 of 257 passes for 1,962 yards and 18 TDs before going down last year. Kenny Golladay is one of the MAC’s top receivers, coming off a 73 catch season in which he gained 1,129 yards and scored 10 TDs. Joel Bouagnon garnered 1,285 yards with 18 TDs in 2015.
Overall, NIU returns 16 starters, six on offense, six on defense and 4 on special teams.
