CLEVELAND, Ohio -- Senior Kenny Kaminski hit a jumper from the left wing with 7.7 seconds remaining to give the Ohio University Bobcats a dramatic 67-66 victory over the Toledo Rockets Thursday in the third quarterfinal game of the 2017 Mid-American Conference Men’s Basketball Tournament at Quicken Loans Arena.
With their win, the second-seeded Bobcats (20-10) advance to the tourney semi-finals for the second consecutive season.

Simmons led all scorers in the contest with 24 points, while freshman Jason Carter added 19 and pulled down 12 rebounds.
Toledo (17-16) was led by seniors Jonathan Williams with 18 points, Jordan Lauf netted 12 and Jaelan Sanford had 11 along with five assists.
Ohio was down 15 points with 7:15 remaining in the first half. The 'Cats then started to chip away at their deficit, closing to within eight points at halftime, 37-29.
The last four points came via two free throws by Simmons and a layup by Carter.Those four points also were the beginning of a big move by the 'Cats as they went on a 16-0 run to take their first lead of the contest, 41-37, on a Carter layup with 16:13 remaining.
The game was tight the rest of the way, with neither team having a muich of an advantage. Ohio owned as much as a four point edge, while Toledo could only muster one possession leads.
In the final moments with the 'Cats holding a 64-61 lead, Toledo freshman Nate Navigato connected on a three from the left arc to tie the game. Wiliams then stole the ball and scored on a layup with 28.3 second remaining to put the Rockets in front, 66-64.
Carter grabbed the rebound got the ball to Simmons. He then passed the ball to Kaminski, who drained the decisive shot.
"Jarron made a real nice pivot to Kaminskl," Phillips said. "There was a body in the way. Kenny made himself available, and it looked good coming off his hand.”
On UT’s last possession, Williams drove down the court with no timeouts and missed a layup. Lauf got the rebound, but his baseline shot was missed and Ohio escaped with the victory.
“It was kind of 'Marchy' out there” and it was that type of a game," Phillips said.
