As a team, Ohio connected on 56 percent (26 of 46) from the field, 45 percent (9 of 20) on treys, and 77.3 percent (17 of 22) at the line.
NIU also had 26 field goals, hitting 26 of 60 overall (43.3%). However, it scored two less triples (9 of 20) and eight less made free throws.
Four Huskies reached double figures, Eugene German, the MAC’s second leading scorer, tallied 15 points. Junior Dante Thorpe was also at 15 points, followed by Levi Bradley (14 points) and Justin Thomas (12 points).
The hosts jumped out to a double digit lead and were up 36-22 at the half.
Northern Illinois’ offense got off to a good start with a early 10-0 run in the second half and totaled 46 points in the period. Ohio, however, was also on target and held off the Huskies.
