Isaiah Johnson, Akron
Center, Junior, Cincinnati, Ohio (Walnut Hills)
Johnson, a 6-10, 295LB. junior center from Cincinnati, Ohio, led the Zips to a pair of wins with back-to-back double-digit scoring efforts to keep the Zips (11-2) rolling through an eight-game winning streak.
On Dec. 30, Akron defeated South Carolina State 78-68 and Johnson led the charge with a career-high 24 points on 5-of-7 shooting, including a career-best 14-of-16 from the free throw line and nine rebounds.
In the second game of the week, Johnson scored a team-high 20 points, as did sophomore guard Noah Robotham, to finish the non-conference schedule with an 80-73 win over Lipscomb. Johnson was 8-of-12 from the floor with five rebounds, three blocked shots, and two steals.
Johnson logged 33 minutes in both starts. For the week, Johnson was 13-of-19 (.684) from the floor and 18-of-26 (.692) from the free throw line while averaging 22 points per game (44 pts). He averaged seven rebounds per game, pulling down nine defensive and five offensive boards for 14 total boards while collecting four blocks and two steals.

Nathan Boothe, Toledo

Senior center Nathan Boothe led the Rockets to a 90-73 home win over Northern Kentucky last Wednesday. Boothe tallied a game-high 24 points and five assists against the Norse in addition to grabbing eight rebounds. Boothe keyed the Rockets' quick start in the contest by scoring 12 of UT's first 16 points. Boothe also sank all five of his free-throw attempts to help the Rockets tie a school record with a perfect 20-of-20 showing at the charity stripe.
