Defensive Player of the Week: Bowling Green DB Brian Sutton Bowling Green senior defensive back Brian Sutton (Fishers, Ind.) led a balanced defensive effort on Saturday, as the Falcons allowed just one offensive touchdown in a 31-13 win at Ohio. The 13 points were a season-low allowed by the Falcons, helped in part by two turnovers forced by the defense and four stops on fourth-down plays. Sutton tied for the team high with 11 tackles and led the team with 2.0 tackles for loss. On the first defensive play of the game, Sutton came up on the Ohio ball carrier to force a fumble and give the ball back to the Bowling Green offense. Stein made his eighth and ninth consecutive field goals with a 28-yard score in the first quarter and a 46-yarder in the second quarter. His 270 rushing yards ranks third in the FBS this season and is the highest total by a MAC player. Rawls is the first player to rush for more than 200 yards versus NIU since 2010 and the Huskies entered the game leading the conference in rushing defense (107.6). As has been Rawls' pattern all season, he got stronger as the game progressed. He ran for 194 yards on 24 carries in the second half as the Chippewas salted the game away. Bell racked up a school record-tying four touchdowns. Bell rushed for three touchdowns for a total of 202 yards and became the first player in school history to run for two 70-plus yard touchdowns in one game. The 202 rushing yards by Bell in the Eagles’ win over the Bulls marked the first time that an Eagle has run for more than 200 yards since Oct. 19, 2013, when Bronson Hill put up 257 yards against Ohio.
