Bowling Green led . . .
"Central Michigan is a team that can play a lot of different ways, and our guys did a great job of adjusting throughout the contest," BGSU head coach Michael Huger said. "Before the game I challenged the guys to have a great follow-up effort from Tuesday's match, and they certainly answered that challenge. Tonight's game saw contributions from every player that stepped on the floor. Our chemistry and togetherness showed tonight."
Fifth-year senior guard Justin Turner led the Falcons with a game-high 24 points. Turner also had eight assists and zero turnovers. Freshman guard Kaden Metheny scored 14 points, while junior guard Caleb Fields and senior forward Trey Diggs registered 13 points apiece.
Travon Broadway Jr. paced CMU with 19 points. Meikell Murray hit 5-of-10 shots from the field on the way to 14 points. Caleb Huffman and Caleb Hodgson chipped in 10 each.
"This was a good measuring stick for us to understand where we are against the best team in this league and understand where we need to try to get to by the end of the season.
"There are excuses out there of why we weren't as successful today, but we're taking a long-term look at it," CMU head coach Keno Davis said. "This team's got a lot of talent, we could be really good -- we just can't get too down when we lose a game, because that's going to happen -- especially in a 20-game (league) season. We could come back and play great the next game, or if we saw (Bowling Green) again, we could look like a completely different team. You try not to get too down after a (loss) and conversely try not to think you've arrived when you play great in a game."
