>> The Zips record fell to 0-10 overall and 0-6 in MAC play on Tuesday November 12 as UA fell to the Eastern Michigan Eagles 42-14 on a snowy, frigid night at InfoCision Stadium
>> The loss insured a double-digit loss season for UA for the first time since 2011 and the fourth time in school history and all of them coming as members of the Football Bowl Subdivision.
>> One bright spot in the game was the Zips scored a touchdown for the first time in almost five games. That came late in the third quarter when QB Kato Nelson connected with sophomore WR Thomas Scippio on an 87 yard pass play.
>> The Zips other touchdown came with 1:09 remaining when Nelson threw a one-yard score to Julian Hicks
>> Nelson finished the chilly evening completing 20-of-33 passes for 288 yards and the two scores
>> WR Jeremiah Knight was the main spark to the offense with six receptions for 121 yards
>> Coming into the Miami game, UA has lost 15 consecutive games overall and their last 10 in MAC play
>> LB John Lako leads the MAC with 116 total tackles (54 solo) while fellow LB Bubba Arslanian had 103 total stops (44 solo)
ABOUT MIAMI
>> After sputtering in the first quarter last week, the RedHawks erupted for 27 second quarter points to take a 37-2 halftime lead. After adding another TD in the third period, Miami was later able to start subbing.
>> Freshman quarterback Brett Gabbert completed 9-of-15 passes for 225 yards with three TDs and one interception.
>> Jaylon Bester led MU with nine rushes for 85 yards and two touchdowns. Overall, the RedHawks run game provided 187 yards and Bester's two scores.
>> It was a big play night for RedHawk receivers. Jaylen Walker had one catch -- good for 60 yards and a TD. James Maye also notched one reception -- a 47-yarder that set up another TD. Senior tight end Andrew Homer sprinted his way to a 35-yard touchdown with his one catch.
>> Miami defenders picked off three Falcon passes. Mike Brown's 79-yard pick-six opened scoring. Travion Banks later grabbed two interceptions.
