Central Michigan bounced back from its Week One loss in a big way last Saturday when it blasted Robert Morris 45-0. However, things are likely to get a bit tougher this week when the Chippewas face LSU before a boisterous crowd at Tiger Stadium.
After losing at UCLA in Week One, the Tigers have little wiggle room to make another College Football Playoff appearance. They did get back in the win column last week with a 34-7 win over McNeese State.

LOUISIANA STATE (1-1)
>> The Tigers had 330 passing yards in the opening loss at UCLA. However, LSU managed a total of 49 rushing yards off 25 carries. By contrast, the Bruins used 47 rushes to produce 210 yards.
>> There was more balance in the offense and the defense allowed just seven points on a late Cowboys TD as Louisiana State downed McNeese State 34-7 last Saturday. The Tigers had 180 passing yards to go with 124 on the ground for a 304 total The Cowboys had just 142 yards of offense for the entire game.
>> Max Johnson completed 18-of-27 attempts for 161 yards and three touchdowns.
>> Corey Kiner and Tyrion Davis Price led Tiger rushing with a combined 19 carries for 93 yards and a score.
>> LSU recorded eight sacks and 16 tackles for loss.
>> Kicker Cade York nailed both field goal attempts, including one from 56 yards.
>> After taking an early 7-0 lead against Robert Morris, CMU broke the game open with 21second quarter points. Another 14 in the third period extended the lead and the Chippewas finished their win with the game’s only field goal for a 45-0 verdict.
>> Not only did Central Michigan hold a 525-109 advantage in total offense, the Chippewas earned 31 first downs to just three for the visiting Colonials.
>> Jacob Sirmon led CMU passing, completing 12-of-16 passes for 110 yards and three TDs. Overall, the Chippewas totaled 228 yards and four touchdowns through the air.
>> Ten different players had at least one carry as CMU rushed for 287 yards on 55 carries (5.2 ypc). Lew Nichols had 17 carries for 79 yards and a score. De’Javion Stepney averaged 9.0 ypc on nine carries for 81 yards.
>> Kalil Pimpleton caught two passes for 27 yards and also ran three times for a total of 35 yards with one TD and returned four punts for 47 yards (11.8 ypr). Dallas Dixon caught five balls for 73 yards and two TDs.
>> Central Michigan punted just once, while the Colonials were forced to punt 11 times.
