The 2017 MAC Men's Basketball Tournament Presented by VisitMyrtleBeach.com will start first round action Monday with four games involving seeds five through 12. Higher seeded teams were awarded home court.
Winners of Monday's contests will advance to quarterfinal action, which starts Thursday at Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland. The top four seeds - Akron (1), Ohio (2), Buffalo (3) and Ball State (4) were awarded first round byes and will be seeing their first action Thursday.
Defending champion Buffalo has won the last two MAC Men's Tournaments.

The quarterfinal slate has two sessions - afternoon and evening. Akron begins the afternoon session with a noon game, followed by Ball State 30 minutes after the first game ends. Ohio kicks off the evening session at 6:30, with Buffalo following in the nightcap -- again, 30 minutes after the session opener ends. Quarterfinal games will be televised on BCSN/Spectrum Sports/ESPN3.
Friday's semifinal games are slated for 5:30 p.m. ET and 8:00 p.m. ET. These games will appear on the CBS Sports Network
The championship tilt will tip off at 7:30 p.m. Saturday and be televised on ESPN2/WatchESPN.
