Auburn hoopster transferring to RedHawks
Dion Wade, a 6-6, 185-pound guard, will transfer to Miami University and join the men’s basketball program, head coach John Cooper announced Wednesday. Wade is transferring from Auburn University where he played his freshman campaign and will sit out the 2014-15 season due to NCAA transfer guidelines. He will have three years of eligibility remaining.

Last season, Wade came off the bench in all 30 games for the Tigers and averaged 10.9 minutes of action per game. On the season, he averaged 3.0 ppg and 1.3 rpg. His season high was 15 points against Arkansas-Pine Bluff on Dec. 30 where he was 4-for-5 from the field, including 4-for-4 from 3-point range.

Originally from Antwerp, Belgium, Wade prepped at Findlay Prep in Henderson, Nev., helping the team to a No. 1 ranking. A McDonald’s All-America nominee at Findlay Prep,

Wade also was a member of the Belgium Junior National Team.

“We are really excited to bring Dion into the fold,” said Cooper. “When you look at Dion, he is a player who has size and he’s got length as well as the ability to really shoot the ball,” Cooper said.

Former Bearcat headed to Ball State
Ball State fourth-year head football coach Pete Lembo has announced the addition of Joshua Posley to the Cardinals’ football program.

Posley, who played the last two seasons at the University of Cincinnati, has transferred to Ball State and will redshirt in 2014 and have two years of eligibility left with the Cardinals.

“We are pleased to welcome Joshua to the football program and the University community,” Lembo said.  “We have known him since his high school days at Warren Central and have built a strong relationship with the coaching staff there.  Joshua is an outgoing guy and a strong student.  He should fit in well.”

A 2012 graduate of Warren Central High School, Posley played defensive end for the Bearcats.  He enrolled in school at UC in January of 2012 and began play that spring.

McCrea signs with German team
Buffalo Bulls’ all-time leading scorer and 2014 MAC Player of the Year, Javon McCrea has signed to play professionally with Medi Bayreuth in Germany.  Medi Bayreuth is based out of Bayreuth, Bavaria and it plays in the highest division in Germany.

McCrea signed with Medi Bayreuth after playing in the NBA Summer League for the Dallas Mavericks.  He averaged 4.8 points in the five games, as well as 1.4 rebounds per contest.  McCrea had 10 points and three rebounds in his final summer league game against the Phoenix Suns.

McCrea was named the 2014 Mid-American Conference Player of the Year and was a three-time All-MAC First Team selection.  He averaged 18.5 points and 9.9 rebounds per game this past season. He was named the MAC East Player of the Week three times this past year and he went over the 30-point mark three times, including a career-high 34 points in a senior day victory over Bowling Green.

The Newark, NY native became UB's all-time leading scorer during his senior campaign and he finished his career with 2,004 points.  McCrea also finished with 988 rebounds – third in school history.
