• Toledo continued its unblemished start to Mid-American Conference play and now owns a season-high six-game winning streak after cruising past Ohio 95-78 Friday . The Rockets’ 5-0 start to the MAC season is their best since starting 7-0 in the 2006-07 campaign.
• Before falling to Toledo Friday night, Ohio had bounced back from an 0-2 league start with wins at Ball State (78-68) and vs. Northern Illinois (76-73). Junior guard Jason Preston leads the Bobcats with 18.9 ppg and 7.4 apg.
• For just the sixth time in program history, Bowling Green is off to a 4-0 start in Mid-American Conference play. Two of those seasons – 2018-19 and 2020-21 – have taken place during the Michael Huger Era. Prior to the most-recent success, BGSU’s other 4-0 starts in program history took place in 2004-05, 2002-03, 1974-75 and 1961-62.
• Miami will see action Saturday for the first time since Dec. 19, when the RedHawks fell to Bradley 69-68. Miami has just one conference game on the record so far -- a 90-62 homecourt setback against Buffalo. MU hopes to get untracked against a Northern Illinois team that owns just one total win in nine outings and has yet to register a conference win in four tries. Head coach Mark Montgomery was recently fired, with NIU associate head coach Lamar Chapman named interim coach for the remainder of this season.
