OXFORD, Ohio – Miami University men’s basketball coach Jack Owens announced the signing of Isaiah Coleman-Lands (Indianapolis, Ind./La Lumiere School) to a National Letter of Intent on Monday. Coleman-Lands will begin play for the RedHawks during the 2017-18 season and fills a significant position of need following the departure of Michael Weathers following the 2016-17 season.

Coleman-Lands, a 6-0 point guard, helped lead the . . .

. . .  La Lumiere School to the Dick’s High School National Championship in 2017. A four-year letterwinner for the Lakers, he was rated a three-star recruit by most major recruiting services. He was named a McDonald’s All-America nominee prior to the season and was invited to the Under Armour All-American camp last summer. He was named the MVP when La Lumiere played the Hoophall West Invitational in December.

“Isaiah comes from a rich tradition at La Lumiere Prep School where he was a part of a championship team,” said Owens. “Also he comes from a great basketball family as his older brother Jalen has been able to play at a high level at Illinois. Isaiah is a smart player who can shoot the basketball. He’ll be able to come in and play the point guard position, which will help lead this team in the right direction.”

Coleman-Lands joins Jalen Adaway (Logansport, Ind./Logansport) as part of Owens’ first recruiting class.
