THE SERIES
Ohio trails Bowling Green 26-40-2 in the all-time series which dates back to the 1945 season. Ohio beat Bowling Green 30-24 snapping a four-game winning streak by the Falcons in the series, on Oct. 8, 2016 at Peden Stadium. It also ended a 17-game Falcon win streak against MAC East teams.
In the Bobcats last trip to Bowling Green, the Falcons took a 62-24 on Nov. 11, 2015.
● Bowling Green committed four turnovers in last year’s loss and have battled turnovers at times in 2017. However, the Falcons had just one turnover in last week’s win over Miami, which committed two very costly turnovers.
● Bowling Green and Miami battled it out in an offensive slugfest, with MU rolling up 618 yards to 505 for BG. The Falcons, however, were able to capitalize on Miami’s critical late-game fumble.
● Sophomore quarterback James Morgan completed 11 of 25 passes for 222 yards and three TDs, with one interception against Miami.
● The Fal;cons balanced their passing game with a big day running the football. Freshman Andrew Clair stepped off 121 yards on 16 carries, while senior Josh Cleveland provided 117 yards and one score on 10 trips. As a team, Bowling Green totaled 275 rushing yards.
● Bowling Green ranks 10th among MAC teams in scoring 19.5 ppg and is last in scoring defense (34.3 ypg).
● Morgan is 10th among MAC quarterbacks in passing efficiency but fifth in passing average 233.0 ypg.
OHIO BOBCATS (4-2, 1-1 MAC)
● The Bobcats were minus-3 in turnovers while losing to Central Michigan at home last Saturday. Ohio now ranks 11th among MAC teams in turnover margin (minus-3).
● The ‘Cats are second (MAC) in scoring offense 38.3 ppg) and sixth in scoring defense (28.3 ppg).
● Ohio is second (MAC) in rushing with 212.7 ppg). Running back A.J. Ouelette leads the conference in rushing, averaging 88.6 ypg.
● Quarterback Nathan Rourke is fourth in pass efficiency/ He has completed 82 of 135 passes (60.7%) for 973 yards with seven TDs and one interception. He has been sacked 10 times.
● Rourke is the Bobcats second-leading rusher, registering 297 yards and a team-high nine touchdowns while carrying the ball 61 times.
● Brendan Cope tops Ohio receivers with 25 catches for 341 yards with to touchdowns.
● Ohio is second in rushing offense (212.7 ypg) and rushing defense (113.0 ypg). The Bobcats are ninth in pass offense (197.8 ypg) and 11th in pass defense (276.0 ypg).
