
Senior guard Jonathan Williams and sophomore forward Nate Navigato shared UT scoring honors with 21 points apiece. Navigato scored the Rockets’ final four points in regulation to send the game to overtime tied at 71 and then hit a big three-pointer with 1:31 remaining in overtime to give UT an 82-78 advantage.

Toledo posted a 54.5 field-goal percentage, including a 45.0 percent (9-of-20) mark from three-point range, and dominated the boards by a 39-27 margin. Senior forward Steve Taylor, Jr. led the way on the glass with 10 rebounds, with senior guard Jordan Lauf collecting nine caroms.
Toledo led 38-32 after the first 20 minutes and owned a 59-44 advantage with 11:31 remaining. A pair of Eugene German free throws pulled the two teams even at 64-all with 3:57 left.
Northern Illinois was up 71-67 at 1:52, but Navigato came through twice – first with a pair of free throws and again on a jumper with 31 seconds left to tie the game. NIU missed a try at the buzzer, and the game went to overtime.
Navigato broke a 76-all tie in overtime with two free throws, and the Rockets pulled away.
