Southeast Louisiana, an FCS school attempting to break a 20-game losing streak against Football Bowl Subdivision teams, trailed 21-0 at intermission. However, freshman QB Donovan Isom – making his first start -- hit senior Jeff Smiley with a 10-yard scoring pass late in the third quarter and then found Dylan Bossier on a 38-yard strike with 11:01 remaining to make it a 21-14 contest.

After an hour-long lightning delay, Ohio quarterback Derrius Vick found Brendan Cope for a 57-yard TD to make it a 35-14 final. Vick completed 17 of 26 for 327 yards with two touchdowns and one interception. Vick also had 26 yards in losses, reducing the Bobcat rushing total to 115. White led the way with 66 total yards, 58 coming on one play. No other rusher had more than 22 yards.
Cope grabbed four passes for 101 yards with a score, while Sebastian Smith (82 yards) also had four catches.
Daz’mond Patterson’s three-yard run opened the game’s scoring. White tallied on a 10-yard run, and Smith made it 21-0 with a 31-yard catch from Vick with 2:47 left in the first half.
