ATHENS, OH -- Quinton Maxwell hit Papi White on a 73-yard TD pass play to start the game and the Ohio Bobcats went on to post a 34-10 victory over Buffalo Friday at Peden Stadium.
Maxwell, a freshman, completed 13 of 23 attempts for 221 yards and two TDs in the rout as Ohio raised its record to 7-3 overall, 5-1 in MAC play. The ‘Cats have now won three straight and six of their last seven contests to put themselves in the MAC East driver’s seat with two games to play.

The Bulls outgained Ohio 413-377 and had one more first down. But UB commited the game’s only two turnovers.
Neither team tallied in the third quarter and Maxwell slashed his way in from one yard out with 9:16 left in the game to end scoring.
Sophomore RB Maleek Irons (12/64/1) and Maxwell (9/50/1) combined for 114 yards and two rushing TDs. Ohio totaled 156 yards on the ground.
Buffalo was held to 105 yards rushing. Senior Jordan Johnson led the way with 17 carries for 59 yards.
Freshman quarterback Tyree Jackson completed 23 of 38 passes with one TD and an interception. The receiving corps was paced by senior tight end Mason Schreck’s seven catches for 120 yards and a score. Malcolm Robinson (4/73) and Marcus McGill combined for eight receptions and 113 yards.
White registered six catches for 113 yards and his early TD, while freshman Elijah Ball registered a 36-yard touchdown n his only catch of the contest.
Ohio will be at Central Michigan Nov. 15, while Buffalo hosts Miami Nov. 12.
