ABOUT CENTRAL MICHIGAN
-- The Chippewas now own two MAC victories -- defeating Akron and Eastern Michigan, while losing to Western Michigan.
-- CMU never trailed against New Mexico State, although it was still a one-score game with the Central ahead 28-21 at halftime. Thirteen straight points allowed the Chippewas to pull away for the 42-28 final.
-- Saturday was a day of explosive plays for the CMU offense. Quinten Dormady opened scoring with a 44-yard pass to Kalil Pimpleton midway through the first quarter.. Less than two minutes later, Kobe Lewis broke loose on a 57-yard touchdown run.
-- Lewis (20 yards) and Jonathan Ward (75 yards) tallied on second period runs. Both runners exceeded 100 yards, combining for 292 yards and three scores. CMU had a total of 353 rushing yards.
-- QB Quinten Dormady completed 14 of 24 passes for 134 yards and a pair of scores. He was not intercepted.
-- Central’s 27.7 ppg is fourth among MAC teams. Likewise, the Chippewas are fourth in scoring defense (28.3 ppg). CMU is second in total defense (367.7 ypg).
--A big strength for Central is its run defense. The 101.3 ypg is tops for the entire league.
-- CMU’s defense is registering 3.0 sacks per outing.
ABOUT BOWLING GREEN
-- The Falcons are still ranked last among MAC teams in total defense, allowing 459.8 points a game. They are 10th in scoring defense, surrendering 35.2 ppg. It was a different story last Saturday, however, as BG’s defense held the high-powered Toledo offense to seven points and 392 yards.
-- Linebackers Kholbe Coleman and Brandon Perce led the Falcon defensive unit, combining for 24 tackles. Nico Lauden registered two sacks and three tfl.
-- Jamari Bozeman added an interception to his 34 tackles on the season.
-- Junior QB Grant Loy completed 14 of 21 passes against Toledo, providing 185 yards and a touchdown. He was sacked once and tossed on interception.
-- Bowling Green has surrendered just seven sacks on the campaign.
-- Loy was also a key part of Bowling Green’s rushing attack, which produced a whopping 240 yards and one TD. Loy carried 19 times for 137 yards and the score. Davon Jones added 64 yards on 17 carries.
-- Bryson Denley registered six catches for 100 receiving yards to lead BG receivers.
