TOLEDO ROCKETS (3-1, 0-0 MAC)
► Jason Candle, now in his first season as head coach, spent seven seasons as a Toledo assistant.
► The two sacks surrendered by UT last week at BYU were the first by a Rocket opponent this season.
► Quarterback Logan Woodside leads the nation in passing efficiency (207.6). He is fourth in TD passes (16) and fifth in passing yards (361.0). he has already completed 12 passes of 40 yards or more.
► Toledo leads the MAC in pass defense efficiency.
► Junior wideout Cody Thompson leads the nation with an average of 32.6 ypc. He was third in the country as a sophomore, averaging 22.3 ypc.
► The Rockets are averaging a conference-best 45.2 ppgwhile allowing 21-2, which is second best in the MAC.
► Toledo ranks third in the country by virtue of holding foes to a 19.3 percent third down conversion rate of 54.4 percent. The Rockets have forced 24 three-and-outs in 55 opponent possessions this year.
► UT trailed Eastern Michigan 6-0 after one quarter last year. The Rockets then tallied 56 unanswered points. UT’s defense registered 12 TFL and four sacks.
► Senior running back Kareem Hunt has eclipsed the century mark in each of his last two outings – 19 carries for 123 yards and one TD against Fresno State and 27 trips for 146 yards and a score last week at BYU. Terry Swanson has 40 carries for 152 yards.
► Kicker Jameson Vest had converted all 23 PATs and two of four field goal attempts with a long of 42.
► The Eagles only loss came in Week Two at Missouri, where the Tigers rolled to a 61-21 victory.
► EMU perhaps served notice 2016 might be different when he crushed Mississippi Valley State 61-14 in the season opener. Eastern also owns non-conference victories over Charlotte and Wyoming.
► The Eagles are tied with UCF for the biggest turnarounds in the FBS so far this season.
► EMU’s run defense has been a strength, which is a marked contrast to last season. The Eagles are 38th in the country and third in the MAC, allowing 189.0 rushing yards per game.
► EMU’s offense ranks 38th nationally and fourth in the MAC with a total offense production of 447.6 ypg.
► The Eagles offensive line has allowed just four sacks through five games. The 0.80 sacks allowed per game is good for 14th nationally (2nd MAC).
► Pat O’Connor has 16 career sacks (2nd most in school history and just 1.5 sacks off the lead of Kevin Howe (2003-2006.
► Eastern has forced 10 fumbles and recovered seven. That is first in the MAC and second nationally. On the flip side, EMU has only lost one fumble.
► Junior quarterback Todd Porter has completed 87 of 142 passes (61.3%) for 1,064 yards. He has seven touchdowns and nine interceptions. Four of the interceptions game in the 27-24 win over Wyoming.
► Sergio Bailey II leads the team in receptions (21 for 240 yards with two TDs. Nigel Kilby has registered 15 receptions for team highs in yards (256) and receiving touchdowns (3).
► Sophomore Ian Erikson (5-10, 206) leads the Eagles ground game. He owns 91 carries for 387 yards and five TDs.
► The Eagles have 11 rushing scores and 10 through the air.
► Freshman kicker Paul Fricano has hit all 22 PATs and six of eight field goals with a long of 46.
