
A sell-out crowd of 7, 392 – the largest since a 2008 renovation -- looked on as UT notched its fourth straight victory over the Falcons. The Rockets’ victory broke a two-game losing streak for UT (11-8, 3-3- MAC) and two-game winning streak for Bowling Green (12-5, 4-2 MAC).
Brown finished 8-for-15 from the floor, including three treys, and 9-for-10 from the foul line. Senior guard Justin Drummond contributed 18 points and a game-high nine rebounds, while junior center Nathan Boothe added 12 points and six boards. Senior forward J.D. Weatherspoon, UT’s leading rebounder and second-leading scorer, tallied just one point and five boards in 20 minutes due to foul trouble.
Senior forward Richaun Holmes paced the Falcons (12-5, 4-2 MAC) with 14 points, while junior guard Jovan Austin came off the bench to add 13 points and a game-high five assists in 27 minutes.
The back-and-forth contest featured 17 lead changes and six occasions when the score was tied.

Toledo responded with an 8-0 burst that Drummond ignited with a jumper on Toledo’s ensuing possession. Brown followed with a layup and sophomore guard Jonathan Williams took a rebound coast-to-coast to force the Falcons to take a timeout.
Boothe blocked Holmes’ jumper following the stoppage and Brown proceeded to nail a jumper for a seven-point lead. The Falcons had a chance to even the game at 64-64 with 1:54 to play, but Austin converted just one of two free throws.
Drummond put Toledo back ahead by three, 66-63, by taking a nice feed from Boothe for a layup. Brown hit five of six free throws in the final 30 seconds to cement the victory.
The Rockets return to action on Tuesday, Jan. 27 at 7:00 p.m. with a home matchup vs. Miami (7-12, 2-4 MAC). The RedHawks snapped a three-game losing streak with a 60-55 road win over Northern Illinois on Saturday. NIU (8-9, 2-4 MAC) will be at Bowling Green Tuesday (7 p.m. ET).
