ROSEMONT, Ill. – The Men's Basketball Collegiate Officiating Consortium LLC, representing the Big Ten Conference, Mid-American Conference (MAC), Summit League and Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference, has announced that veteran college basketball official Mike Sanzere will join the staff beginning with the 2015-16 season. Sanzere retires from officiating following a distinguished 36-year career to serve as the primary liaison for officiating in the MAC, Summit League and Northern Sun, while also providing assistance to the Big Ten.
“He has worked at the highest levels, including the 1998 National Championship Game, three Final Fours, 14 NCAA Regionals, 25 consecutive NCAA Tournaments and 37 Conference Championship Games among eight different conferences. He is well-respected nationally, and I look forward to Mike working with our coaches and officials."

Sanzere officiated in eight Division I conferences during his career, including the Big Ten, MAC and Summit League. He officiated in 25 consecutive NCAA Tournaments, including three Final Fours. In his new role, Sanzere will oversee in-season officiating operations for the MAC, Summit League and Northern Sun, monitor performance and assist the consortium with training and development.
