Bowling Green (GoDaddy Bowl), Northern Illinois (San Diego County Credit Union Poinsettia Bowl), Toledo (Marmot Boca Raton Bowl), Ohio (Raycom Media Camellia Bowl), Western Michigan (Popeyes Bahamas Bowl), Akron (Famous Idaho Potato Bowl), and Central Michigan (Quick Lane Bowl) will represent the MAC in bowl games this season.

Bowling Green (GoDaddy Bowl), Northern Illinois (San Diego County Credit Union Poinsettia Bowl), Toledo (Marmot Boca Raton Bowl), Ohio (Raycom Media Camellia Bowl), Western Michigan (Popeyes Bahamas Bowl), Akron (Famous Idaho Potato Bowl), and Central Michigan (Quick Lane Bowl) will represent the MAC in bowl games this season.
In the previous four bowl seasons, the MAC has a record of 8-14 in 22 bowl games – 2014 (2-3); 2013 (0-5); 2012 (2-5); 2011 (4-1) – as ten different MAC programs have appeared in a bowl game in that span.

Dec. 19: Raycom Media Camellia Bowl – Montgomery, Ala. 5:30 pm ET (ESPN)
Ohio (8-4, 5-3) vs. Appalachian State (10-2, 7-1, Sun Belt Conference)
Note: Ohio ended the regular season by winning its final three games to finish with an 8-4 overall record, and a 5-3 record for second place in the MAC East. Bobcats head coach Frank Solich is in his 11th year leading the Ohio football program. Last year, Ohio witnessed its five-year consecutive bowl appearance streak come to an end, despite finishing bowl eligible in 2014 with a 6-6 overall record. The Bobcats have been bowl eligible in nine of the 11 years under Solich and will be making their seventh bowl appearance during his coaching tenure. Overall, Ohio will be making its ninth bowl appearance in school history (2-6 bowl record).
Dec. 22: Famous Idaho Potato Bowl – Boise, Ida. 3:30 pm ET (ESPN)
Akron (7-5, 5-3) vs. Utah State (6-6, 5-3, Mountain West Conference)
Note: Akron finished the season by winning its final four games to post a 7-5 overall record, 5-3 in the MAC East and bowl eligible for the first time since 2005. Fourth-year head coach Terry Bowden will be leading his Zips to the programs first bowl game under his leadership. For Akron this will be only the program’s second-ever bowl appearance as the Zips suffered a 38-31 loss to Memphis in the 2005 Motor City Bowl.
Dec. 22: Marmot Boca Raton Bowl – Boca Raton, Fla. 7:00 pm ET (ESPN)
Toledo (9-2, 6-2) vs. Temple (10-3, 7-1, American Athletic Conference)
Note: Toledo completed the regular season as MAC West Division Co-Champions with a 9-2 overall record, 6-2 in the MAC West. Toledo lost the tiebreaker to Northern Illinois for the opportunity to play in the 2015 Marathon MAC Football Championship Game. Jason Candle was recently named head coach after four-year head coach Matt Campbell accepted the Iowa State head coaching position. The Toledo program will be making its second consecutive bowl appearance (2014 GoDaddy Bowl) and its fifth bowl game in the last six years (2015 GoDaddy Bowl; 2012 Famous Idaho Potato Bowl; 2011 Military Bowl; 2010 Little Caesars Pizza Bowl). Toledo will be making its Conference leading 15th bowl appearance in program history (10-4 record in bowl games).
Dec. 23: San Diego County Credit Union Poinsettia Bowl – San Diego, Calif. 4:30 pm ET (ESPN)
Northern Illinois (8-5, 6-2) vs. Boise State (8-4, 5-3, Mountain West Conference)
Note: Northern Illinois won the MAC West Division Title for the sixth consecutive year and will be heading to a bowl game for a MAC record eighth consecutive season. The Huskies suffered a 34-14 loss to Bowling Green in the Marathon MAC Football Championship Game on Dec. 4. Third year head coach Rod Carey and the Huskies finished the season with an 8-5 overall record, 6-2 in the MAC. Northern Illinois has set a MAC record for consecutive bowl invitations with eight (2014 Boca Raton Bowl; 2013 San Diego County Credit Union Poinsettia Bowl; 2013 Discover Orange Bowl; 2012 GoDaddy.com Bowl; 2010 uDrove Humanitarian Bowl; 2010 International Bowl; 2008 Independence Bowl). Northern Illinois will be making its 11th bowl appearance as a member of the MAC (4-6 record in bowl games).
Dec. 23: GoDaddy Bowl – Mobile, Ala. 8:00 pm ET (ESPN)
Bowling Green (10-3, 7-1) vs. Georgia Southern (8-4, 6-2, Sun Belt Conference)
Note: Bowling Green won its third consecutive MAC East Division title with a 9-3 overall record, 7-1 in the MAC and defeated Northern Illinois, 34-14, to win the 2015 Marathon MAC Football Championship Game on Dec. 4. The win was the programs third overall MAC Championship in the last three seasons. Second-year head coach Dino Babers accepted the Syracuse head coaching position on Dec. 5 and defensive coordinator, Brian Ward, will lead the Falcons as Interim Head Football Coach. The Falcons will be making their fourth consecutive bowl appearance (2014 Raycom Media Camellis Bowl; 2013 Little Caesars Pizza Bowl; 2012 Military Bowl). Bowling Green will be making its 13th bowl appearance as a member of the MAC (5-7 record in bowl games).
Dec. 24: Popeyes Bahamas Bowl – Nassau, Bahamas Noon ET (ESPN)
Western Michigan (7-5, 6-2) vs. Middle Tennessee (6-5, 5-2, Conference USA)
Note: Western Michigan received a bowl invitation for the second consecutive year for the first time in program history. The Broncos ended the season with the program’s first ever Top 25 win with a 35-30 win at Toledo on Nov. 27 to claim a share of the MAC West Division Title. The Broncos are under third-year head coach P.J. Fleck, who in his first year witnessed a 1-11 overall record, to 8-4 last year and this year’s 7-5 overall record. Western Michigan will be appearing in a bowl game for the fifth time in the last 10 years and fourth time in the last eight years. The Broncos will be searching for the program’s first ever bowl victory.
Dec. 28: Quick Lane Bowl – Detroit, Mich. 5:00 pm ET (ESPN2)
Central Michigan (7-5, 6-2) vs. Minnesota (5-7, 2-6, Big Ten Conference)
Note: Central Michigan wrapped up the 2015 season with a 7-5 overall record, 6-2 in the MAC and a share of the MAC West Division title. First-year head coach John Bonamego led the Chippewas to a first-place tie in the tough West Division and ended the year by winning their final two games and five of the last six regular season games. The program will be making its second consecutive bowl appearance, its third in the last four years and the seventh in the last 10 seasons. In 2012, Central Michigan defeated Western Kentucky, 24-21, in the Little Caesars Pizza Bowl, while last year Western Kentucky defeated the Chippewas in a wild-ending 49-48 loss in the 2014 Popeyes Bahamas Bowl.
