With their win, the Rockets (19-10, 11-5 MAC) moved into a first-place tie in the Mid-American Conference overall standings. UT is tied with Bowling Green (19-8, 11-5 MAC) and Central Michigan (21-6, 11-5 MAC) with two games left in the regular season.
The top two teams in the league earn a bye to the semifinals of the conference tournament on March 13 at Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland. The third- and fourth-seeded teams go directly to the quarterfinals on March 12. Teams seeded No. 5-12 will play first-round contests at campus sites on March 9.
Bo Calhoun led the Cardinals with 30 points, connecting on 13-of-17 from the field overall and 3-of-4 trey attempts. Franko House collected 10 rebounds to pace BSU on the boards.
Seniors J.D. Weatherspoon and Justin Drummond led the Rockets with 18 and 17 points, respectively. Senior Julius Brown dished out a team-high seven assists to go along with six points.

Junior center Nathan Boothe also was in double figures for Toledo with 12 points, while Weatherspoon grabbed 12 boards to help the Rockets hold a commanding 41-34 advantage on the glass.
The Rockets never trailed in the contest and used an 11-2 spurt at the end of the first half to take a 36-25 lead to the locker room.
UT appeared ready to blow the game open when a Drummond trey put the Rockets in front 48-31 with 15:46 to play. The Cardinals, however, rallied with some strong defense and outscored the Rockets, 20-8, over the next eight minutes to cut UT's lead to 56-51.
Drummond ended Toledo's offensive struggles with a layup and Weatherspoon following with 10 straight points to help secure the victory.
