The Bulls had 12 of those turnovers in the opening half and really struggled from the charity stripe over the first 20 minutes, hitting just six of their first 14 from the free throw line.
Robert Morris opened . . .
Buffalo began the second half scoring the first seven points, tying the game just three minutes into the period. The Bulls ended up going on an 18-5 run over the first nine minutes of the half as they took their largest lead of the night at 48-42.
The Colonials answered, though, as they cut it to one just a minute and a half later before UB edged out to a 54-49 lead. Robert Morris then went on a 7-2 run to tie the game up at 56-56 with 6:33 left. The contest was knotted at 62-62 with 3:14 remaining when RMU went on a 6-0 run over next two minutes. UB tried to fight back late as it pulled within one with 33 seconds left and again with 11 seconds remaining, but the Bulls could not get over the hump.
Hamilton led the way with 24 points, including 14 of those in the second half. He also added six rebounds and a team-high four assists. Sophomore Nick Perkins finished with his second double-double of the year, as he had 10 points and 11 rebounds.
CJ Massinburg finished with 13 points, but had six turnovers, while Willie Conner finished with eight points as he went just 1-of-8 from the field.
The Bulls will be off for the next nine days for a holiday break before closing out non-conference play on Friday, Dec. 30 when they host Maine.
